Project Description:
Schnabel was hired to install tiebacks to stabilize a failing bin wall along Route 42 in Beacon Falls, Connecticut.  The bin wall was around 550 feet long with a maximum height of 23 feet.  The stabilization of the bin wall required around 262 permanent tiebacks utilizing double corrosion protection.  After the tiebacks were installed and tested, a cast in place concrete facing was poured around the tieback head connections.  After a sufficient amount of cure time, the tiebacks were locked off to the new wall and the blockouts were patched.
