Job Responsibilities
At Schnabel, our construction managers have the chance to gain real-world construction engineering and management experience. Balancing both design and construction management with field and office work experience, this exciting position exposes you to the different facets of our business, from project management and geostructural design to sales, estimating, surveying, and contract negotiation.
Construction Management
Construction managers work with project managers to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the successful construction of projects. They also work, communicate and build relationships with clients. Using superior communication skills, they ensure customer satisfaction through the timely and successful completion of projects.
Sales and Marketing
Construction managers also work with pre-construction managers to assist in bidding, conduct sales calls, and engage in other sales and marketing activities.
Construction Engineering
At Schnabel, our construction managers work to ensure that projects are constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications and in accordance with corporate standards. They also work with design professionals to develop calculations and details required to successfully perform our work.
Safety
As a Construction Manager, you will work with the foreman to maintain safety in the workplace in accordance with the Schnabel’s safety program and OSHA Standards. You will also be responsible for ensuring that construction logs, test reports, and other project-specific documentation are all collected and maintained.
What Does it Take to Work at Schnabel?
To qualify for the Construction Management position at Schnabel, you’ll need a minimum level of education and experience, including:
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent experience
Since we are a nationwide contractor, you will need to have the ability and willingness to travel. You should also have a desire to work in the construction industry and progress to project management or sales and marketing.
