The month of April marked a significant milestone for Schnabel as we celebrated 65 years in business. It all began on April 6, 1959, when our founder, Harry V. Schnabel Jr., began this journey from a single office in Washington, D.C. His vision was to create the best company in the foundation industry, and his dream has become our reality.
Today, Schnabel continues to operate under Harry’s vision and principles. It has grown to become one of the leading geostructural design and construction contractors in the construction industry, well known for its unmatched technical expertise, focus on safety, and ability to tackle the most complex construction projects. Since its inception, the company has successfully completed over 5000 design-build projects and patented over 20 construction techniques and designs.
Currently headquartered in Sterling, VA, Schnabel operates seven regional offices across the United States and three equipment shops, that allow the company to provide the best earth retention solutions to their clients. Schnabel’s wide range of customized earth retention and specialty foundation solutions include excavation support, underpinning, shotcrete and soil nailing, landslide stabilization, micropiles, and jet grouting.
